DIY Funnel Neck Top with Belt – BurdaStyle 12/2021 #115

Pattern Details:

I am absolutely in love with this Top! When I got the Burda Issue this past December, I already knew I wanted to make it. It can be worn casually with jeans or dressed up with pants or a skirt. The style is loose but still fitted to the body and the belt helps accentuate the waistline.

There were two fabrics I had in mind, one ended up being shy of the yardage I needed so the other one it was. The fabric that I used was a black and white eyelash knit from JoAnn fabrics.

Construction Details:

This was a very quick and easy top to make. It came together without issue and I completed it in one day. If you are short on time, as many of you are, this is something you can get done on a weekend.

Modifications:

I didn’t make any style modifications, the only thing that I did was add a little to the length and left out the thread loops for the belt. I have a longer torso but a high waistline and my belt can sometimes travel even when they are in loops. This causes my top to bunch up funny, so off they went. I figured once I wore it, and if I felt I needed the loops, they would be easy to add since that was the last step in the instructions.

Views:

I am already planning to make this again in the fall. I will just have to keep an eye out for the fall fabrics when they start to become available.
